Change of Plans
We’re getting married today! Predicting what September will look like in light of COVID-19 was just getting to be a bit too hard, and ultimately we've decided the practical choice is to adjust rather than trying to chase a moving target.
Here's the plan now — while the marriage begins today, it’s essentially a wedding in three acts:
- Act One: We’re going to have a small ceremony in the backyard today (5/15/20) with the bare minimum attendees. As of now it looks like we’ll luck out with the weather!
- Act Two: There will be a religious ceremony in September, as we had originally planned, but that is still just for immediate family.
- Act Three: Next year, when things should be more calmed down and easier to forecast, we plan to still have a party (or perhaps several smaller parties) to celebrate with all of you.
We love you, we’re sad that we can’t have everyone here to celebrate in person, but we’re excited to see you all soon.

What the changes mean for you now
We don’t know the date for celebrating next year, so there’s nothing to save at the moment, but you can help us out with a couple things:
- We know we don’t have everyone’s email address and the ones that we do have might be old (there was a fair amount of sleuthing to get what we could). So if someone happens to mention “9/19/20”, maybe you can help spread the word?
- We are both millenials so we will obviously be sharing photos on social media, you can see them there over the next few days. Gracie’s Instagram handle is @gherzc and Jamie’s is @holzhuter.
- Keep washing your hands!
Email Sign-Up
You can still sign up for emails to get updates about the future plans! As a reward you’ll also get a photo of us holding Blaise Pascal (the dog).
